OUR HISTORY

 

The Diocese was established in the year 1983 from Nakuru diocese and the Lt. Rt.Rev’d. Alexander Kipsang Muge being the first Bishop,the second,Rt.Rev’d.Stephen Kewasis  the third Rt.Rev’d Thomas Kogo and the current Rt.Rev’d. Dr. Christopher Rutto. The Diocese of Eldoret covers 6 districts in the North rift approximately 23,000kms2.The diocese has approximately 300,000.Anglican members with these 65% being the youth and 18% children.
The majorities of the population here are the youths and makes them to be most vulnerable to the challenges of the times.

Our cathedral Parish is under Anglican Diocese of Eldoret and has existed more that the years our Diocese of was created but was made cathedral immediately after the Diocese was created and to date it has remained to stand the test of times.
